Beyond
Her Majesty's Men takes place after HMM. It explores
a little further the story of these two soldiers in the British
Forces, and gives insight into how Tom and Alex’s friendship
develops.
This
small collection is a special charity
publication for Médecins Sans Frontières
(MSF). It is not available in print, because the charity auction
winner for the Haiti Relief auction exclusively received the
print version.
All profit
– £0.40 per ebook – goes to MSF, and Marquesate
does not earn a penny from this publication. It is available
to download
as ebook from Lulu.
Beyond
Her Majesty's Men is based on material written as far
back as 2003 and 2004, which was expanded on, and was published
by Marquesate's Camouflage Press in March 2010.

Tom
was about to wake his mate once more, when his eyes fell
onto Alex's hand. The fist clenched surreptitiously, as
if readying itself to fight off some unknown enemy of another
nightmare dimension.
He
instinctively reached out to still the hand by placing his
own on top of the other's. The reaction was instantaneous.
Alex took hold of his hand, then relaxed into position,
leaving their fingers entwined.
Not
letting go.
Not
that Tom wanted him to.
Alex
was silent now, took in a deep shuddering breath, before
his face smoothed out, and he returned to sleep. No more
nightmares. No one from the past to tear his soul apart.
Tom
swallowed hard. He closed his eyes too tightly before opening
them up again. Guarding the sleeping man, and watching him
in the darkness, he murmured. "Shit, Alex, I never
meant to fall in love with you."
